Ground Support Engineer / Automotive Technician

URGENT REQUIREMENTS! Outstanding new opportunities are now available to appoint X2 Ground Support Engineers at Edinburgh Airport EDI. This vastly stable, Global organisation seeks skilled Automotive Technicians to join their expanding team working on not only HGV's, LGV's and similar, but a variety of Ground Service Equipment. We are NOT necessarily looking for fully qualified HGV technicians, but those with an already stable career from an automotive workshop or automotive dealership who would like to further develop their experience. You will conduct planned and preventative maintenance, as well as service and any repairs on a plethora of equipment, giving you real variety and in an incredibly exciting environment. Candidates sought will ideally be time served with a minimum of one year post apprenticeship experience. You will be qualified with City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent automotive qualifications with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical systems. Offering all PPE and uniforms, your overalls will be supplied and laundered for you, but you must have your own tools. Ex-Military candidates are highly desirable, particularly those from the REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers), Royal Engineers, or similar. Candidates highly sought after are those with HGV Technician / HGV Engineer / HGV Mechanic / PSV Engineer / PSV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic / Automotive Mechanic / Technician level experience who will enjoy turning their craft to other similar, unusual and related plant and ground support equipment. We will also consider candidates who've come from a construction plant maintenance, service and repair background AND candidates from automotive main dealerships with experience working as a skilled mechanic / automotive technician looking to learn more and progress their career. Full training on the service and maintenance of ground support equipment is available with an immediate start working a 4 on 4 off days shift, offering a great work-life balance: work 4 days, have 4 days off!
