We are searching for a motivated, friendly team member to perform mechanic and repair duties. The right person will have a proactive attitude and take pride in their accomplishments. This position will report to the Project Manager and is based at Camp Bullis in San Antonio. Typical work hours will be Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm. What You'll Do as a Grounds Support Equipment Mechanic: Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs while advising and training staff on how to repair less complex maintenance problems. Studies drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics to properly inspect and solve repairs issues. Use automated maintenance data systems to monitor trends and analyze equipment requirements. Use digital multi-meters and hand tools to diagnose and repair equipment. Maintains external fuel and grounding systems while performing regular maintenance, inspections, and tests to ensure serviceability and proper operations. Services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, refrigerant and compressed air to diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment and publications. Repairs components and accessories in accordance with waste and hazardous material local and federal environmental standards and regulations. Prepares equipment for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects and services towing vehicles. Maintains and updates electronic equipment records, also provides dispatch services including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations. Ensures tool control, flying object damage prevention and always adheres to safety standards. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. What You'll Need to Be Successful: High School Diploma or GED. Must have at least four years’ experience servicing and maintaining grounds equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb ladders. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach. Required to be able to lift 75lbs up to 10 times per day. Requires ability to use hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for installation, maintenance, and repair. Ability to work as a team member. Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision. Other Requirements: Ability to pass criminal, drug, financial, and driving screening. Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record. Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays. If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
