The Group Accountant will be a key member of our finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our group financial reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of financial consolidations, the management of subsidiary accounts, and the preparation of statutory and management reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record in managing complex financial processes in a dynamic business environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the consolidation process for the group, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS or relevant accounting standards. Manage the financial affairs of subsidiary entities, including oversight of local accounting practices and compliance. Support the preparation of monthly management reports, providing insightful analysis and commentary on financial results. Develop and maintain group accounting policies and procedures, ensuring best practices in financial management and reporting. Implement and oversee financial controls and governance frameworks across the group to mitigate financial risks. Collaborate with finance teams across the organization to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting capabilities. Alongside the existing team, prepare consolidated group financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Coordinate and prepare statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations. Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations for annual audits and interim reviews. Participate in strategic projects, providing financial expertise and support to drive business decisions and initiatives. Minimum Requirements: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong academic background. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a group finance function. Demonstrated experience in financial consolidations and reporting, with a thorough understanding of IFRS or relevant accounting standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information. Proficient in the use of financial systems and consolidation tools, with advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different levels of the organisation. Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Work’s a treat!
