Parkinson Lee Executive Search are the retained partner to a highly entrepreneurial, hyper growth building products business in the appointment of a Group Finance Director.

This Group Finance Director will report directly into the Group Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the Managing Director on the company's strategic development plans whilst being accountable for the daily activities of the core finance function.

Our client is market leading and progressive, they are a fast moving and evolving group of brands within their industries with a turnover of c£250m and EBITDA in the region of £45m. They have scaled significantly through acquisition and organic activity over the past decade to currently operate a portfolio that includes multiple revenue streams and company verticals, with a headcount of c1,000.

With plans to double the size of their EBITDA over the next 4 years, the Group Finance Director will have a strategic focus on designing and implementing a first-class core accounting function that supports the future aspirations of the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership:

Provide strategic financial leadership to the finance teams across all companies within the group, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and objectives. Financial Planning and Analysis:

Oversee the development and implementation of robust financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making. Reporting and Compliance:

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts. Manage the preparation of consolidated financial statements. Performance Management:

Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying key trends and variances. Implement performance improvement initiatives to optimise financial results. Identify and implement relevant KPI's across the group to give C suite performance indicators in advance of MI. Risk Management:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks across the group. Business Engagement:

Develop divisional heads financial ownership of their MI through regular engagement and ensure operational management meetings are targeted to ensure business improvement through robust analysis of performance. Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as a key liaison with external stakeholders including auditors, regulators, and financial institutions. Maintain strong relationships to support the financial health and growth of the group. Team Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Minimum Requirements: A qualified finance professional with a degree preferably finance, accounting or a related field with a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA is essential). Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role within a multi-entity group that has several routes to market and a wide portfolio of brands. Exposure to working within growing medium to large businesses that has been through a similar period of expansion and understands the complex challenges of acquiring and integrating businesses into a group format. Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards. Demonstrable leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and inspiring finance teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Advanced proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Our client is offering a salary between £130,000 - £150,000 with executive benefits packing including Car /Car Allowance and Bonus.
