Following significant expansion in recent years, our client is seeking a motivated Group Financial Accountant to join their friendly finance team. We are looking for a qualified Group Financial Accountant to maintain and improve the financial reporting processes across the group. With a focus on consolidation, statutory reporting, and driving operational excellence, this role provides a blend of technical accounting and collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation.
What will the Group Financial Accountant role involve? Prepare and maintain accurate accounts for non-operational Group entities and the parent organisation within reporting deadlines. Consolidate monthly management accounts and forecasts, resolving queries with operational entities. Prepare annual statutory accounts for group entities, ensuring compliance with acquisition accounting standards. Reconcile balance sheet and fixed asset accounts, maintaining accurate control accounts. Support tax reporting and ensure VAT compliance across group companies. Drive improvements in financial processes and support wider business initiatives.
Suitable Candidate for the Group Financial Accountant vacancy: Qualified accountant (ICAEW or ACCA) with a strong understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS, particularly acquisition accounting. Knowledge of VAT reporting and tax compliance. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A proactive, methodical approach with a proven ability to manage workloads in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience managing or mentoring a team is desirable.
