Group Financial Accountant Hertfordshire (Hybrid 2 days in the office) Circa 60,000 + Bonus Vitae Financial Recruitment are proud to be partnering this marketing leading business based in Hertfordshire who have an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Financial Accountant to join their high performing Group Finance function. The role will have excellent exposure to the Group Financial Controller and the CFO, playing an integral role in the statutory audit process and taxation compliance, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors to meet both internal and external reporting deadlines across the Group. This broad role will also give exposure to producing and maintaining financial reporting, developing financial controls, Tax, Revenue reporting, borrowings and intercompany for the Group, treasury, cash and covenant reporting; maintaining the fixed asset registers across multiple companies ensuring depreciation journals are recorded, ensuring financial records are kept up to date across the Group companies, building strong and trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Other key areas will include: Assisting with a number of controls and transformation projects. Balance sheet account reconciliations for fixed assets, tax, borrowings and intercompany produced monthly in line with strict reporting timetable, across the Group. Statutory audits completed in line with our internal and external timelines, and all corporate tax and VAT compliance completed in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain up to date financial records. Strong and trusting relationships established with all key stakeholders, including finance team, external advisors and auditors. Provide support on the preparation of statutory accounts and tax reporting (including compliance and reporting). Liaising with external auditors and tax advisors. Responsibility for producing and maintaining financial reporting reconciliations; ensuring these are reviewed monthly and that records are evidenced to support financial statement audits. Ensure financial records are kept up to date across the Group companies. Liaise with the wider finance team to understand Group processes and take responsibility for specific processes as required. Involvement with our treasury and cash reporting. Build meaningful relationships with all key stakeholders, including fellow finance team members, external auditors, tax advisors and HMRC. Keep abreast of UK accounting and taxation legislation enabling the group to remain fully compliant in respective areas. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, effectively present ideas and turn them into practical actions. Lead initiatives on continuous improvement of financial reporting and support wider group goals and initiatives. Adhoc financial projects. What we are looking for: Must be qualified ACA, ACCA with strong academics. Must be able to work within a dynamic growth environment and contribute to wider transformation projects. Attention to detail, with good analytical and numerical skills. Team player and ability to work collaboratively with the wider team to meet periodic deadlines and contribute to wider group goals. Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Strong technical accounting knowledge. A self–starter who is able to prioritise and manage deadlines. Ability to bring a commercial outlook to the role such that deliverables add value and insight to the business.
