Group Financial Accountant | Full time | Remote
THE ROLE:
The Group Financial Accountant at EV Cargo will work within the Global Finance Team and will play a vital role in developing the group reporting processes for EV Cargo. This is a full-time permanent position based remotely.
Within the team, you will report to the Group Financial Reporting Manager and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Head of Financial Reporting, Systems Accountant and Divisional Finance Heads. Working in this role, you will come into contact with colleagues on a regular basis and it is vital that you are able to manage these relationships professionally, while ensuring that the objectives and aims of the business are met.
EV Cargo is in the initial phase of implementing Oracle Cloud EPM for Financial Consolidation and Close. We seek a professional to support this project, with the goal of developing into a key user and contributor. In the interim, this individual will take a hands-on role in producing the group's monthly and annual reporting requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Help to produce monthly group consolidation.
Provide analysis on monthly variances in group reporting.
Prepare statutory group consolidated accounts at year end, together with financial statements and disclosure notes.
Provide statutory account preparation support to divisions.
Assist with achievement of deadlines for year-end audit and reporting including liaison with auditors.
Provide technical accounting standards support to divisions and central team.
Ensure consistency of application of accounting policies across group companies.
Ensure reconciliation of inter-company balances and elimination of trading activities in group results, introducing improved controls where necessary.
Maintain the accounts for a small number of non-trading group holding companies including: monthly journal preparation.
Work with Systems Accountants towards achieving group consolidation within Oracle Cloud EPM Financial Consolidation and Close.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
You will ideally be ACA/ACCA qualified and this will possibly be your first move from practice, although applications are welcome from all people who can demonstrate relevant experience:
Confident accounting capability under both IFRS and UK GAAP.
Experience with group consolidation.
Experience with internal controls.
Comfortable with producing a set of statutory financial statements.
This is a hands-on role, with no manager responsibility.
