Blair West are delighted to be supporting with the appointment of a Head of Group Finance, representing KWA's first senior finance hire. This is a #1 finance role that requires a technically strong, detail-heavy, “sleeves rolled-up” Accountant who will enjoy the breadth of a role that encompasses day-to-day finance operations, audit preparation, and tax, combined with business improvement projects including developing an impactful MI suite.
The opportunity: Supervising all day-to-day accounting operations and overseeing international subsidiary teams in the production of monthly accounts. Producing a group month-end timetable and fully consolidated financial statements. Implementing and managing the preparation of budget and financial forecasting and reporting any variances. Designing and publishing monthly MI and commentary for the Global Directors. Ensuring reporting meets compliant standards with statutory law and financial regulations. Driving the global finance strategy & development of a treasury function. Collaborating and influencing key global stakeholders, translating complex financial concepts into a language that non-financial stakeholders can understand. Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls. Leading the first-time audit process including pre-year end preparation and being the key contact for the audit firm. Coordinating year-end tax computations and ad-hoc issues with advisors and ensuring the group is compliant with all regulations. Ensuring effective training is in place for best-practice financial control throughout the group.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have: A Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical skills (IFRS) and a suitable level of PQE from a similar leadership role. International group-based knowledge with consolidation experience. An understanding of multi-entity reporting structures, including basic corporate international governance knowledge. The ability to thrive as the most senior person in group finance with the initial remit of implementing and shaping a fit for purpose function. The ability to be a strong communicator and trusted business partner able to influence a global Board of Directors. An advanced understanding of IT/data platforms able to drive efficiencies in financial control through the introduction of modern systems and processes. The ability to measure the success of the function, recommend and steer governance to ensure the KWA Analytics brand maintains its high integrity. A “sleeves rolled up” attitude and a problem-solving nature. Knowledge of software consulting / professional services sector would be advantageous.
