Group Lease Accountant – 15 Month Fixed Term Contract

IVC Evidensia has revenues of over £ 3.4bn and network of more than 2,500 sites, including first opinion clinics, hospitals and out-of-hour centres and a number of pet crematoria and other ancillary businesses. IVC Evidensia operates a high growth model, typically looking to acquire around 300 sites a year across all countries.
The role is to assist the Group Lease Accounting Manager with lease accounting, processes and controls across the Group. This involves running bespoke leasing software, monthly and annual reporting, working with new acquisitions, and providing technical support to country accounting teams. The group currently has leases with a value of ~£500M, in territories including UK, Europe and Canada. A key component of the role will be working with country teams to monitor and assist with reconciliations of lease control accounts and provide reporting to senior management
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Ensure complete and accurate reporting of lease accounting information, based on data in BDO Lead (Lease software) Implement established lease processes, controls and reconciliations for lease reporting and transaction flows Support the onboarding of lease data for all new acquisitions and updates/ changes to existing leases Provide technical support to country management accounting teams on lease accounting (IFRS 16) Problem solve/undertake project work Validate and back up work of lease administrators Monitor reconciliation/clearance of the lease payment control accounts Validate Administrators’ inputs into BDO Lead (Lease software) Prepare monthly data for company journals into Open Accounts (GL) Reconcile BDO Lead/Open Accounts data at Group level Line management of Lease Administrators Assist in preparation of lease disclosure notes for full (statutory) and half year accounts and with interim/year end audit responses Ad hoc project work e.g. cleansing leasing data, rolling-out process improvements Prepare summary/specific lease information requested by other accounting functions such as Group Accounting/Reporting, Treasury, FP&A Experience/Qualifications: Essential ACA or similar accounting qualification Working knowledge of IFRS 16 Ability to manage and manipulate data Intermediate Excel skills including Pivot tables Experience of preparing reconciliations Practical approach to problem solving Attention to detail Can-do attitude and ability to drive outcomes Desirable Experience working with multi-site business Experience of PowerBI Use of custom accounting systems and databases Experience of working with multiple currencies Following receipt of your application, you will be contacted by one of our experienced hire recruitment team.
