Job Description Glasgow City Region is a key engine of economic growth and one of the UK's largest metropolitan city regions. With a growing population of 1.8 million people, it is home to 34% of Scotland’s jobs, 30% of the country’s businesses and generated £48 billion of Gross Value Added (GVA) in 2021. The Regional Economic Strategy sets out a shared vision that by 2030, Glasgow City Region will have the most innovative, inclusive and resilient economy in the UK. These exciting roles are based within the newly established Place team working alongside the City Deal PMO, Shared Prosperity Fund and Intelligence Hub teams. The City Region Team is hosted by Glasgow City Council. Creating ambitious strategies and delivering impactful outcomes, GCR Place will lead on a range of strategic spatial planning and delivery priorities such as the Regional Spatial Strategy, Clyde Mission, Glasgow and Clyde Valley Green Network and the spatial elements of the £160 million Investment Zone. Hybrid working is available in this role.
