Summary and Overview Group Risk Manager Isle of Man, Jersey or UK Home Based Permanent Full time Competitive Salary & Benefits You'll contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Equiom’s Risk Management Framework (RMF) and provide the second line oversight and assurance over Equiom’s system of governance, risk management, and internal control. Your New Role This list of duties is not exhaustive and may change from time to time according to business needs: Risk Management Framework (RMF) Contribute to the maintenance, development, and embedding of Equiom’s RMF, Risk appetite and related policies, processes, procedures, and methodologies Drive an effective risk culture across the organisation, contributing to risk education, training, awareness, and guidance Perform risk assurance testing in accordance with agreed, risk-based plans Conduct deep-dive reviews and investigations into specific risks and issues Ensure that issues identified are recorded, tracked, and reported appropriately Ensure the quality of risk data in OSX, such as Risk incidents, issues and actions and Risk & Control assessments meet required standards Monitor and review 1st line RCA (self-assessments), challenging anomalous results and inconsistencies with other risk-related data (e.g., KRIs, incidents, and issues) Support colleagues in the creation of CMP tests where required Oversight of third-party risk management Risk and Controls Advisory Support colleagues in the 1st line of defence whilst maintaining the independence, integrity, and objectivity required of the 2nd line of defence Participate in committees and working groups and provide input from a risk and control perspective including sharing best practice Proactively identify new and emerging risks and themes and ensure appropriate management Risk Analysis and Reporting Perform and contribute to risk analysis e.g., Root cause analysis, identification of themes, scenario analysis, stress testing, etc Work with colleagues to maintain and develop internal and external data feeds (including KRIs and horizon scanning), providing useful insights to the Head of GRM and other key stakeholders on events and developments Work with Compliance and Risk colleagues to consolidate/aggregate data from multiple sources to provide comprehensive assessments of risk Create & provide impactful reporting for Equiom’s governance bodies (e.g., Board, Executive Risk Committee), business units and functions Systems Support Be a go-to subject matter expert/champion of OSX (Equiom’s Enterprise Risk System) Contribute to OSX system development and its ongoing maintenance What will you need to succeed in this role? As to be expected, we are searching for someone who can bring a range of skills and experiences to enhance the team. As such, there are a few essential skills we are looking for: Sound understanding of Financial Services Risk Management/ Risk Oversight or related discipline(s) e.g. Internal Audit, Compliance Good stakeholder management Good report writing skills Initiative/ability to work without close supervision Qualifications (Risk, Compliance, Audit) (desirable) Experience in the Fiduciary sector (desirable) Experience in RCA (desirable) Personal attributes which would be seen in the ideal applicant include: Highly developed communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complicated/complex information in a clear, concise, and understandable way Ability to build strong, effective relationships at all levels Well organised, methodical worker with strong analytical skills Work effectively both as part of a team and on their own Sound judgement Good attention to detail Equiom Group For more than 45 years we have supported high net worth individuals and international corporations to nurture and fulfil their ambitions.
