We provide an integrated approach to managing Health, Safety and ESG across industries, locations, contractor and supplier networks. The Group Solicitor will provide reliable, accurate and commercially focused legal advice to the Alcumus Group of companies. The Group Solicitor will support the Director of Legal and Compliance to ensure that a first-class, solutions-orientated legal service is provided to support all business units.

What that means day to day

Advise the Group on legal matters, particularly on commercial contracts. Engage with the business units and group support functions to build credibility and trust, whilst supporting them in addressing legal implications and compliance issues. Negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial contracts and NDAs. Support with Company Secretarial matters including managing the group structure, statutory filing, and investor and board support. Support the Director of Legal and Compliance with ensuring GDPR / Privacy law compliance ad-hoc projects. Assist with managing the Group's IP, domains, and trademark registrations and address any related contentious issues as they arise. Support the Director of Legal and Compliance in resolving legal issues that occasionally confront the business. General legal research and legal administrative duties as required.

What you’ll need to be successful

Essential Mitigate legal risk across the Group. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to challenge management on legal/commercial risk positions. Able to resolve legal issues using a pragmatic and commercially sound approach. Work with others in a collaborative and solution-focused manner to achieve positive outcomes, demonstrating effective communication skills. Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions. Attention to detail and subject matter expert. Desirable Draft contracts that contain appropriate and proportional protections for the Group businesses. Consider the commercial implications of a decision, looking at the bigger picture. Ability to influence and build strong relationships across the Group. Prioritise workload and deal with high volumes of work. Strong working knowledge of commercial law issues and the ability to apply these using a pragmatic and common-sense approach.
