The Agricultural Engineering and Agriculture department is located at Coleg Glynllifon. Students study full-time level 2 and 3 courses with the possibility of completing an apprenticeship with a suitable employer. Students enter the world of work by working for employers who offer Agricultural services e.g., selling, maintaining machinery on farms, or by contracting. With guidance, the Practical Skills Supervisor will work to develop students' understanding and skills through planned practical activities. These tasks follow a scheme of work that develops during term time to establish students' competence so they meet the requirements of the course. Here is an example of the activities carried out by students: Driving farm machinery (tractor/Telehandler) Work with livestock - dosing, weighing, sorting, lambs, calves. Farm equipment maintenance - Tractor, telehandler, round baler, manure spreader, fertilizer spreader Estate maintenance work - fencing, walling, installing gates. The Practical Skills Supervisor will be asked to contribute to a range of these activities depending on expertise and experience. Weekly hours:
7.5 hours per week An additional percentage of 10% will be applied to the contracted hours worked to reflect preparation and marking. Weeks per year:
