Key Responsibilities:
Work within a dedicated Hand Therapy team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, working within closed trauma fracture clinics, out-patient clinics and wards - working with post-operative and non-operative patients. Provide comprehensive hand therapy services to adults and children with various conditions (trauma, acquired conditions) including splinting, exercises, functional rehabilitation, scar and oedema management.
Essential Criteria:
We are looking for a Hand Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist) with:
HCPC registered Clinical experience in hand therapy – assessment, splinting and modalities Able to clinically reason both simple and complex hand and wrist trauma, including tendon and nerve repairs, acquired hand and wrist conditions such as Dupuytrens, OA, RA, non-specific wrist pain, tendinopathies, peripheral nerve entrapments. Ability to autonomously manage a caseload of adults and paediatric patients as well as support junior therapists with clinical reasoning and treatment planning Experience in interpreting hand and wrist X-rays Experience as a team lead involved in operational planning/oversight
Desirable Skills:
Have worked in UK NHS system in a Hand Therapy at Band 7 level Experience working in an on-call capacity for hand trauma service Experience triaging referrals and managing diary capacity Benefits of Working with Medacs Healthcare:
