Community Occupational Therapist - Urgent Response Contract: Permanent. Full-time 37.5 hours per week The role of the Occupational Therapist is to assess, treat and rehabilitate community patients in their own homes within the Haringey borough. The post holder will have the opportunity to work across community streams of service including community rehab and falls and urgent care services. The post holder will receive a thorough induction and regular supervision. The post holder will provide comprehensive and high-quality OT and care management to community patients with simple to complex needs within the Haringey borough. The post holder will be actively involved in team and service developments with the support of the line manager. To develop strong working relationships within the multidisciplinary team. Clinical To be professionally and legally accountable for all work undertaken, adhering to the standards and guidelines of the team, the Trust, BAOT, HPC, and COT code of ethics. To ensure that the client and/or their carer understands treatment protocols and gives informed consent to assessment and treatment. To undertake specialist occupational therapy assessments of clients with diverse needs. To prioritise factors involved in the client's presenting condition through clinical reasoning. To independently screen and assess complex multi-disciplinary referrals. To manage a caseload of clients with simple to complex needs. To devise and manage a treatment plan tailored to the client’s presenting condition. To work autonomously in isolated community situations. To ensure client and service records are accurately maintained. To educate and teach relevant carers/health workers in ongoing rehabilitation care programmes. Postgraduate experience in a variety of teams. Experience of working in the community. Experience
Relevant experience is essential for this post. Knowledge and experience working with falls, dementia, and neurological conditions. Advanced knowledge and application of core OT skills. Experience of supervising junior and non-qualified staff. Skills and Abilities
Able to communicate complex information effectively. Essential IT skills, including Word and PowerPoint. Ability to develop client-centred goals. Understanding of issues involved in offering a service to a diverse community. High level of organisation skills and ability to prioritise own caseload. Other Qualities
