We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key role in assisting with daily patient care tasks, ensuring comfort, and supporting the delivery of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Help patients move or reposition to ensure comfort and prevent pressure sores. Monitor and report changes in patients' physical condition and emotional well-being to nursing staff.

Clinical Support:

Take vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate. Assist with the administration of prescribed medications as directed by nursing staff. Help prepare and assist patients during medical examinations, procedures, and treatments.

Patient Documentation:

Record and document patient observations, including any changes in condition or behavior. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient care records in line with legal and clinical guidelines.

Cleaning & Infection Control:

Ensure patient areas are clean and hygienic. Follow infection control protocols to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.

Communication & Teamwork:

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Attend training and staff meetings to continuously develop skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, or in a similar role (preferred but not essential). Certification in Healthcare Assistance, NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) is advantageous. Basic understanding of patient care principles and healthcare practices. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.

Work Environment:

The role will require working in a healthcare setting, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, or home care environments. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of the facility.
