There's currently 3 of us in the Head and Neck Nursing Team within the Surgical Services Division. This is an excellent opportunity to help support and develop the Head and Neck cancer nursing service, including supporting people along the whole pathway from pre-diagnosis to living with and beyond cancer or transition to end of life care. Main duties of the job

Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of clinical practice and providing leadership to others. Lead the development, management, and promotion of the specialist nursing service ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care that meets the needs of patients in accordance with national and local policies and initiatives. Work collaboratively with the clinical lead and the MDT for the service and contribute to the identification of service objectives, annual reports, and annual work plans for the service. Use advanced communication skills delivering highly complex, sensitive, significant, or contentious information to patients and carers. Make clinically sound judgements surrounding complex health concerns or situations which require analysis, interpretation, and comparison of a range of care options to enable initiation of interventions to support patients' healthcare needs. Be a point of contact for our patients and staff. Responsible for the ongoing development, evaluation, and management of the specialist Head and Neck cancer nursing service. Management of a team of existing Clinical Nurse Specialists and Macmillan Cancer Support Worker role. Lead the development and embedding of the Electronic Holistic Nursing Assessments within the Head and Neck specialty. About us
