ROLE SUMMARY:

The Northern Europe region has a central finance function which covers multiple countries. We are looking to recruit an ambitious Head of Accounting and Tax.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Managing all day-to-day accounting and tax operations
2. Managing implementation of new accounting system and training of team members
3. Managing monthly payroll reconciliation and ensure accurate and timely payments to both employees and HRMC
4. Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and Intercompany transactions
5. Maintaining accounting records in accordance with IFRS
6. Supervision and managing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
7. Coordinating the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection
8. Supervising and managing a team of 8 people
9. Working closely with the Business Managers and Heads of Schools to ensure information is readily available for monthly reporting and budget/forecast queries.
10. Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
11. Preparing and filing of tax returns (direct and indirect taxes)
12. Support Senior Transactional Controller with ad hoc tasks when required
13. Ensuring that proper, efficient and robust accounting and financial management processes and controls are in place
14. Assist with new accounting system (JD Edwards) implementation

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

3. Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA / CIMA) preferred

11. High aptitude on systems
12. Understanding of ability to work in a PE environment in a results driven organisation
