This role will require a BPSS check. Description of role: As the Head of Accounting and Financial Control, you will contribute to efforts to improve and enhance our internal and external reporting. This is a key value-add role to the organisation with a high level of visibility at a senior level. Your contributions include: Leading the Group reporting on a monthly basis for internal and external stakeholders. Managing Group audits and supporting internal departments in their external reporting requirements. Coaching and mentoring team members locally and internationally to strengthen the control environment. Building relationships with senior internal stakeholders, including the CEO and executive directors. Reporting to the Financial Director and supported by a senior finance team operating internationally. Main responsibilities: Liaise with external financial auditors and assist with audit and accounting papers. Implement recommendations from auditors to improve the control environment. Prepare group consolidated accounts and related entity statutory accounts. Work with international finance teams to ensure timely audits and implement recommendations. Draft and shape accounting policies as required by changes in standards. Provide technical accounting advice on key transactions or changes in standards. Assist with tax queries from external advisors to finalize yearly corporation tax returns. Review UK VAT submissions quarterly. Oversee the month-end process and prepare monthly group reporting papers. Ensure integrity of data within the accounting system through control report reviews. Support cash flow management and ensure accurate reporting for treasury management. Support the development of an internal audit function within the Group. Guide the management accountant’s skillset and knowledge base. Assist with year-end audit and ad-hoc tasks or project work. Drive process improvements within the finance team. Travel:
