We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Applications, Enabling Functions to join us. In this pivotal role, you will lead four agile squads dedicated to our enabling functions, which includes Actuarial & Risk, Finance & HR, Underwriting Operations, and Legal & Compliance. You will collaborate closely with Business Transformation Managers and Delivery Managers to identify capability gaps, develop strategic roadmaps, and ensure the seamless delivery of application services. Principal Accountabilities: Leadership & Strategy:

Lead and mentor four agile squads aligned with enabling functions (Actuarial & Risk, Finance & HR, Underwriting Operations, Legal & Compliance). Develop and execute strategic roadmaps in collaboration with Business Transformation Managers. Capability Development:

Identify and address capability gaps and improvement opportunities within the enterprise architecture. Ensure alignment with business goals and objectives. Project Management:

Oversee the delivery of projects on time and within budget. Coordinate with Delivery Managers to ensure effective project execution and resource allocation. Operational Excellence:

Ensure the operational services of applications, including security, configuration, and third-party management, are maintained. Liaise with the Service Desk to resolve issues promptly. Performance Monitoring:

Utilize Jira and Service Desk tools to track and report on KPIs, SLAs, and other performance metrics. Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights. Team Leadership:

Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members. Roadmap Development:

Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain a strategic roadmap for application development and enhancements. Ensure alignment with business priorities and technological advancements. Stakeholder Communication:

Communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and opportunities. Ensure transparency and alignment across the organization. ROI Analysis:

Evaluate the return on investment (ROI) for application projects and initiatives. Present findings and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making. Innovation & Improvement:

Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Required Skills and Experience: Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or TOGAF, and Agile/Scrum certifications like Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or PMI-ACP. Extensive experience in IT management, within a leadership role. Proven track record of setting up and leading departments of 20-40 people, both directly and indirectly, and managing vendors and third-party service providers. Strong background in enterprise architecture and capability development, with extensive experience in project management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic roadmaps in collaboration with business transformation managers. Proficiency in Jira, Service Desk, and other performance monitoring tools. Experience in budget management and financial resource allocation. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards for compliance and security.
