Head of Architecture - Group Functions National Salary Circa £125,000 London Salary Circa £150,000

We have a unique opportunity for a Head of Architecture to join our team and drive technological innovation, strategic alignment, and operational excellence within the organisation! This role reports into the Group Chief Architect and will be responsible for driving the strategy and adoption of technology across the Aviva organisation within the Group Functions domain, encompassing the sub-domains of Finance, Risk, HR, and Legal, to enable business growth.

A bit about the job: Within the role, you will oversee the development and implementation of strategic architectural solutions that align with our business objectives, ensuring we have a clear architecture strategy and roadmaps for each of the sub-domains (Finance, Risk, HR, and Legal). This is a key leadership role, both for our Chief Information Office (CIO) organisation and for our business stakeholders.

You will lead a team of architects to design robust, scalable, and innovative technical solutions that support our products and services. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the technology landscape to drive business growth by linking the business and technology strategy and owning the architecture roadmaps for this market, bringing different business partners along with you. Additionally, you will enhance operational efficiency by finding opportunities for innovation, standardisation, and simplification to ensure regulatory compliance for our business, including participating in and being responsible for architectural governance.

Skills and experience we're looking for: Strong understanding and previous experience working within the domains of Finance, Risk, HR, and Legal, including products, services, regulatory requirements, and market trends. Experience driving architecture transformations within the Finance domain. In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies. Proficiency in designing and implementing complex, distributed systems leveraging modern technologies and modular architecture practices. Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable architectural plans and solutions. Experience developing and executing long-term architectural roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.

What you'll get for this role: National salary circa £125,000, London salary circa £150,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications). Bonus opportunity - 25% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's. Generous
