Head of Buying and Sourcing

The Head of Buying and Sourcing will be responsible for ensuring Piglet in Bed’s plan and deliver exciting, commercial and profitable product ranges to meet our customers’ needs. Joining at a crucial stage of Piglet in Bed's growth journey, the Head of Buying & Sourcing will support developing the Buying team and unlocking the right sourcing routes to enable solid foundations for continued growth. What you'll be getting up to Buying Strategy: Creates topline seasonal strategies for the buying department, working with the Head of Merchandising and your team to deliver this each season. Works with the Design Manager to research and develop product ranges that support our customers’ lifestyles and set high quality standards. Build ranges across Piglet in Bed with Merchandising and Design colleagues, making sure you cater for all formats, countries and future opportunities. Trade the business with the Head of Merchandising and suppliers to handle risks and opportunities. Ensure we have knowledge of the market and competition to establish any shifts or trends that may affect sales and require action. Supplier Management Review existing supplier performance and lead the sourcing strategy to enable profitable growth. Negotiate costs and set selling price to deliver product margin for the business, working with suppliers and product technologists to ensure fit and quality standards are met. Conduct buying trips and establish relationships with suppliers, understanding manufacturing capability and opportunities. Develop new products, negotiate prices and capacity plans. Team Management Develop and lead a strong team, giving the opportunity for them to be their best and establish best practice processes. Oversee the critical path with your team and suppliers, ensuring key dates are met to launch product on time. Who we're looking for: Already established/experience at Head of Buying level or Senior Buying Manager ready for the next step. Ability to open up new sourcing routes with experience in bedding or home textiles is ideal. Strategic planning skills and product development experience are necessary. Leading and developing teams: embedding new processes and establishing best practice. Competent and experienced in negotiation skills and building strong business partnerships. Coaching and managing people. Sourcing and managing a remote supply base including NE and FE travel. Data analysis and numeracy skills. Confident in presenting products to internal and external audiences. Hours & Location:

This is a full-time role on a 12-month fixed-term contract, 5 days a week with 3 days based in our London office.
