Head of Chemical Regulations

Our products range from liquid soaps, skin care, air care, hard surface cleaners, and sanitisers to rodenticides, insecticides, repellents and attractants. The business has a range of products for professional as well as consumer use. This role will be responsible for developing and bringing to market new and modified products that deliver innovative solutions to meet the requirements for cost, quality, service and safety, and environmental considerations in order to help the business address market opportunities. The incumbent will be responsible for the assessment of new technologies as they relate to consumable products and managing multiple product development projects to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with Marketing and Innovation teams to develop, scale-up (where necessary), modify and update all formulations and associated packaging to meet business requirements.

Identify gaps in the portfolio, and new product requirements in collaboration with M&I and business colleagues.

Ensure that all products brought to market are compliant with regulations in all geographies sold, supporting the Product Development Director to give final approval and compliance assurance to Rentokil Initial Executive Leadership Team.

Co-ordinate all change projects associated with consumables, whether new products, improved products or cost saving initiatives.

Liaise closely with the Science and Regulatory teams based at our Global Science Centre to ensure alignment of our product development activities.

Ensure product traceability process for safety compliance requirements.

Implement and manage project management process within the Product Development Consumable team.

Ensure that all consumable products have full quality and process specifications, including stability testing prior to release for production and the customers.

Responsible for handling and contact with Eco accreditation bodies, such as EU Ecolabel and Nordic Swan.

Responsible for maintaining technical relationships with customers and suppliers.

Requirements:

A minimum of a good honours degree in a scientific or similar discipline; post-graduate qualification a plus.

Relevant know-how and experience in the product development or technical management field. Experience with cosmetics, biocides and / or pesticides preferred.

Knowledge of Regulatory Affairs at an international level would be beneficial.

A natural team leader with proven experience of leading, developing and broadening specialist technical staff.

Proven experience of working across borders, regions and culture; frequent travel a necessity.

Country Mother Tongue / English essential. Further European languages an advantage.
