have been engaged on an exciting 6-9 month contract for a Head of Commercial Finance to join a well-respected, multi-site not-for-profit organisation. With a high-impact role working alongside an inspiring and energetic CFO, this position offers excellent exposure to the senior leadership team and the chance to make a real difference in a mission-driven environment. There is also the potential for this role to become permanent for the right candidate.

ROLE

As Head of Commercial Finance, you will play a crucial role in shaping the organisation’s strategy and financial performance. Working closely with the CFO, you’ll influence key financial decisions and ensure the organisation's resources are effectively allocated to support growth and innovation. This is a role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who understands the nuances of a not-for-profit environment and is comfortable with a paced approach to decision-making. Your expertise will provide insights that support both immediate needs and longer-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with the CFO to drive commercial decision-making across the organisation.

Develop and implement financial strategies to support organisational goals.

Provide strategic insights to the SLT to inform operational and financial planning.

Analyse site performance and contribute to the improvement of budgeting and forecasting processes.

Work with operational leads to ensure financial viability and value for money across projects and initiatives.

Support strategic initiatives with rigorous financial analysis, including impact assessments.

PERSON

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from the leisure, retail, or hotel industries, along with a commercial and strategic mindset suited to a not-for-profit setting. You’ll have a natural ability to engage stakeholders, challenge constructively, and thrive in a purpose-driven environment where long-term impact is key.

Key attributes include:

Proven experience in a commercially focused senior finance role, ideally in multi-site organisations.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term objectives.

A collaborative approach with excellent communication skills, adept at working with senior leadership.

High level of adaptability, with the patience and clarity to navigate a not-for-profit environment.

Availability to start within a month, with potential interest in a longer-term role.

OFFER

£90-100k, plus benefits.

6-9 months, with potential for a permanent role.

Exposure to SLT and close working relationship with an inspiring CFO.
