We are partnering exclusively with a fast-growing, Private Equity backed Renewable Energy Business who are seeking a highly experienced Head of Commercial to join their dynamic team. As the Head of Commercial, you will lead and shape the commercial vision, contribute to bid strategy whilst also ensuring the profitability and scalability of the company. This is a pivotal leadership role which holds responsibility for driving long-term growth, providing insight-driven reporting and supporting key contractual decision-making, identifying efficiencies and profit improvements, as well as providing financial support for new business opportunities and retentions. Required Experience: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with comprehensive post qualification experience. Previous experience working in a commercial leadership role ideally a Head of in infrastructure, renewable energy or technology sector. Experience in managing large-scale deployments, balancing operational constraints with commercial priorities. Expertise in bid management with a proven ability to secure contracts that drive business growth and align with strategic objectives. A strategic mindset, who is capable of translating complex data and trends into actionable commercial strategies. Advanced analytical capabilities and skills including proficiency in building and interpreting complex commercial and financial models, and using financial tools and systems (e.g., Excel, ERP platforms). Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skill with experience handling high-value contracts and external partnerships. A deep understanding of market dynamics in energy pricing, demand patterns and pricing strategies. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent influencing skills with the ability to bring people along on the journey. A proactive mindset, always seeking opportunities to add value and deliver effective results or solutions to the company. Key Responsibilities: Deliver a comprehensive strategy to deliver sustainable growth, profitability and market leadership. Provide thought leadership to the senior management team offering data-driven insights and strategies to shape company direction. Lead the strategic planning of bid opportunities to align with strategic objectives ensuring competitiveness and long-term financial viability. Take ownership of key initiatives and projects, driving them from concept to completion, and deliver accurate and timely updates, reports and insights to the CFO. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance and identify areas for improvement. Deliver clear, concise reporting to the C-Suite ensuring transparency and understanding of commercial drivers. Oversee all commercial aspects of bid submissions ensuring alignment with financial goals and regulatory requirements. Develop commercial and financial models to assess the impact of new business opportunities and partnerships. Partner with Legal to evaluate risk, negotiate terms and safeguard commitments made within bids. Partner with key stakeholders to evaluate financial risks and opportunities within commercial contracts. Develop and implement a robust, data-driven pricing strategy for our products and services to optimise profitability and competitiveness. Conduct pricing analyses, considering market conditions, customer segmentation, and competitive landscapes.
