Head of Construction

to lead our teams in the South. What will you be doing? Reporting to the regional Head of Delivery, as the Head of Construction you’ll be responsible for overseeing, planning, scheduling, building, installation and corrective action programmes across all products for high value contracts. You’ll be required to lead, and develop the construction team, creating and communicating a clear vision for the function, whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with clients (councils), subcontractors and suppliers, managing escalated project risks and challenges. Proactively identifying and developing new construction opportunities and ways of working, in partnership with the Head of Delivery. You’ll ensure Construction Design Management regulations (CDM, 2015) are complied with at every stage of the build process as well as Health and Safety and industry standards and oversee Capital stock, ensuring systems and records on all products are updated accurately and within agreed timeframes. Key responsibilities include: Project Oversight:

Manage the delivery of multiple construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Client Management:

Liaise with clients to fully understand their needs and provide regular updates on progress. Tender Preparation:

Managing tenders and Quantity Surveying to control project expenses. Team Leadership:

Lead and manage site teams, ensuring effective use of resources and optimal performance. Schedule Planning:

Support internal teams with the creation of detailed work schedules, budget management, and timelines for each project. Contract Negotiation:

Draft, review, and negotiate business contracts with sub-contractors (where applicable). Compliance Management:

Ensure all projects comply with regulatory and safety standards (EH&S). Site Meetings:

Attend regular site meetings to monitor progress and address any emerging issues. Problem Solving:

Address post-construction issues and ensure smooth project handover after Practical Completion. Health and Safety:

Undertake site visits and safety audits. Technical Support:

Guide and offer solutions for our internal teams. Knowledge, Experience and Attributes: Background in construction. Minimum of 5 years' experience in Contract and Project Management. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective leadership and management skills, especially in motivating site teams. High level of IT literacy. Driver’s License. Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills. Strong Health and Safety knowledge, especially CDM2015. What’s in it for you?
