Hybrid role, can be Solihull, Cardiff or London Based We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Consumer Credit Risk. This critical role involves overseeing the credit risk profile of our Consumer businesses, ensuring the sustainable growth and development of the businesses within agreed Risk and Capital parameters. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the credit risk profile of Consumer businesses. Support the growth, sustainability, and development of the businesses in line with agreed Risk and Capital parameters. Develop and perform oversight on all risk strategies within Consumer Finance, ensuring alignment with Secure Trust Bank Group and customer interests. Deliver these strategies to key stakeholders, including Executive Committee and Board level. Evaluate, maintain, and develop the Consumer credit policy and appetite. Minimize provisions and write-offs across the portfolio while maximizing RoE against Risk appetite. Ensure lending decisions comply with Credit Policy, Legal documentation requirements, and other regulatory policies. Chair credit committees and relevant monthly Credit Risk meetings. Take ownership of IFRS9 from a Consumer Credit risk perspective, overseeing expert credit judgement overrides. Support the STB CRO with project work and develop strong cross-functional relationships within the STB Group. Develop deep relationships with key external/third party stakeholders to support the role and deliver STB strategy and goals. Participate in all relevant IFRS9 processes, including monthly reviews of ECL balances, providing challenge where appropriate. Skills/Knowledge/Experience: Proven track record in Credit Risk, particularly Consumer lending Risk, while displaying commercial acumen. Ability to establish credibility and deliver results at all levels, from support staff to Board level. Knowledge and strict application of regulations related to compliance, money laundering, KYC/KYB checks, and PRA/FCA regulatory reporting. Strong understanding of the regulatory framework surrounding Banks, including the IFRS9 Accounting Standard. Desire for continuous improvement to ensure STB remains a strong partner for our customers. A relevant professional qualification or demonstrable qualification by experience.
