Planning - Shaping Tomorrow's Communities Today
We are looking to appoint a talented Head of Service to lead our ambitious Development Management (DM) service. The position is advertised on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with the opportunity for this to be extended or made permanent for the suitable candidate.
As the Head of Development Management, you will report to the Director of Planning and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the DM service, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies, and driving improvements in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the DM team, providing direction and support. Ensure high-quality planning applications are processed efficiently. Engage with stakeholders and represent the service at public meetings. Develop and implement policies to enhance service delivery. Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar leadership role within planning. Strong understanding of planning legislation and policy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
