RPS is looking for a Head of Economics to lead and grow our Economics Team. This is a key role within our National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team, who work collaboratively with our Environment Division. Working alongside a range of multi-disciplinary services within a team of planning experts, you’ll be delivering on a broad range of projects including new settlements, urban extensions, city development, business space, logistics, renewable energy (solar and wind) projects across England, Scotland and Wales. What you will be doing You will be working on some of our national development projects across England, Scotland and Wales in a collaborative manner with Planning and Environment colleagues. This is a key position where you will have the opportunity to build a team, mentor, and develop their professional experience. You’ll be contributing towards the continued success of the business and team through the effective delivery of a wide variety of projects. The development of client relationships and securing new projects forms part of the role. You’ll generate new and repeat business, as well as provide professional consultancy advice and services to our clients and colleagues. The National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team is also accountable for coordinating or assisting our submissions for frameworks, large tenders involving other teams within the Division and aiding other offices where necessary. Who we are looking for Qualified MIED, IEMA and or RTPI A highly experienced and knowledgeable practitioner who has experience of economic impact and ES Socio Economic Chapter writing Experience of appearing as an expert witness in Examinations in Public as well as Public Inquiries A strategic thinker with strong negotiating techniques and a track record of taking ownership of and achieving outcomes for customers, business, teams, and self Have an established market reputation with a demonstrable record of winning sustainable and commercially viable projects Good financial and project management know-how Great influencing and communication techniques that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with colleagues, customers and external bodies.
