The school is at an exciting time in its development on its journey from good to outstanding. An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and passionate leader to become the next Head of Education and work closely with the Head of Care and Principal to continue the journey to being an outstanding provider of specialist education. The House School is an independent Residential Special School catering for up to 64 students with a diagnosis of autism. They have high expectations for all of their students to achieve the very best they can. Students are willing learners and engage enthusiastically in learning when staff utilize their creative skills to meet their individual learning needs. The school benefits from extensive grounds and well-resourced facilities, and the learning environment is an excellent place to work and learn. The Head of Education will play a vital part in raising standards at the school and will have the full support of the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will lead with confidence and conviction and will be passionate about the power of specialist and bespoke education to transform lives. They will demonstrate unwavering determination, relentless optimism, and unfailing commitment to raise aspirations for autistic young people. They will lead by example and be a source of inspiration, support, and guidance to colleagues. They will have the highest expectations of every student, in terms of achievement, character, and conduct. They will be passionate about equality of education and committed to finding creative solutions to broaden experiences, outcomes, and improve independence for all students, enabling them to fulfill their potential and future career aspirations. Most of all, they will possess excellent communication and people management skills to get the best out of a superb team of professionals. With the support of the Principal, the successful candidate will lead the education team and liaise closely with colleagues to promote a person-centred and forward-thinking partnership. You will work closely with the Head of Care to develop and implement high-quality education for autistic learners. You will have a passion for creating and maintaining successful, meaningful opportunities that enable and maximize employability skills. As the Head of Education, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of learning and student progress in the school. You will model and promote positive attitudes and relationships amongst staff, students, and all other stakeholders, in keeping with the school’s vision and values. You will ensure the best possible outcomes for the students within the school through robust monitoring and evaluation. You will lead on further developing the school curriculum to ensure it meets the individual needs of all of their students.
