Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic & experienced Head of Engineering to join our pre-seed startup. As the Head of Engineering, you will lead our AI-driven platform's technical vision, architecture, and implementation. You will work closely with the founders to build and scale our product, ensuring it meets the needs of our users & realtors/brokerages.

Key Project: Lead the creation of a cutting-edge multimodal AI agent that reimagines the homebuying experience by providing homebuyers with deep insights into the quality and condition of homes they’re touring or considering. What you will do: Lead the engineering team, driving best practices in software development and net new projects

Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Python and REACT.

Implement AI solutions, particularly those utilizing LLMs to extract structured data from unstructured text and images.

Oversee the entire tech stack, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Mentor and grow a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of the platform.

Manage deployment processes using tools like Render, CloudRun, and Heroku.

Who you are: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Master’s preferred) (6+ years of total experience)

2+ years of experience in a professional (production) environment.

Full stack experience with a preference for backend expertise and the ability to review front-end code.

Proven experience with using LLMs, especially for extracting structured data from unstructured text and images.

Strong proficiency in Python and Javascript.

Experience with frameworks such as Django (REST), Celery, Vercel/Vite, or PyUnit/ Cypress testing

Familiarity with tools such as: Github

Postgres SQL

Node/WebPack

Render/CloudRun/Heroku or similar deployment platforms

Sentry

Docker
