SimWest is partnering with a growing, well-established machinery manufacturing business to find a Head of Engineering. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll oversee a dynamic team across Design, Projects, and Electrical, blending strategic vision with hands-on technical involvement. Your solid background in engineering design and project management will be pivotal as you lead the team to achieve impactful goals, deliver innovative solutions, and maintain the highest standards of quality. The company operates across multiple sites in the North West, so the successful candidate will be expected to split their time between these locations and occasionally visit customer sites as needed. As the Head of Engineering, you'll: Lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse team of engineers, fostering growth and development at all experience levels. Manage recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of new team members to build a high-performing team. Oversee engineering operations, ensuring exceptional quality and excellence across design, project management, and electrical functions. Effectively allocate workloads to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Track and manage departmental KPIs to drive performance and ensure continuous improvement. Champion innovation and implement engineering best practices to enhance productivity and drive cost efficiencies. Foster strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and third-party manufacturers. Tackle complex engineering challenges with precision, creativity, and technical expertise. Provide hands-on support and guidance to your team during peak periods, ensuring smooth operations. About You: Proven leadership in guiding engineering teams to successfully deliver high-value capital equipment projects. Deep expertise in engineering design and project management, focused on driving innovation and achieving exceptional outcomes. Exceptional planning and resource management skills, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality. Skilled in aligning strategic objectives with daily operations, maintaining efficiency while ensuring project success. Dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and process optimization to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and project alignment. Adept at solving complex engineering challenges, applying creative and practical solutions.
