We are seeking an experienced and dynamic

Head of Engineering

to uphold and advance the technical standards and operational performance across ACO Technologies' manufacturing processes. This role is essential to ensuring high levels of uptime, product quality, and continuous improvement in our operations.

As the Head of Engineering, you will lead three critical engineering functions:

Maintenance Engineering

Mould Engineering

Process Engineering

Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll foster a high-performance engineering culture, set strategic technical directions, and drive improvements across our manufacturing operations.

About the role In this role you will:

Lead the Maintenance Engineering, Mould Engineering, and Process Engineering teams, ensuring operational excellence and technical standards across all manufacturing functions.

Ensure high levels of manufacturing uptime, product quality, and adherence to technical standards across all production lines.

Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising processes, reducing downtime, and increasing operational efficiencies.

Collaborate closely with production, quality, and safety teams to ensure products meet ACO’s standards and compliance requirements.

Develop and manage strategic engineering plans that support both short-term goals and long-term business objectives.

Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve production issues quickly and effectively.

Maintain and build a high-performing engineering team through effective mentoring, recruitment, and ongoing development.

Drive and support a culture of innovation, quality, and accountability within engineering teams.

About you We are particularly looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

Significant experience managing engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.

Understanding of and experience working to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

Understanding of and experience working with LOLER and PUWER regulations.

Experience with workplace transport such as forklift trucks, electric powered pallet trucks, mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), etc.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.

Experience managing the activities of on-site contractors regarding manufacturing engineering projects.
