Subject Lead for English - SEMH Specialist Secondary School, Rochdale Sennen Education are working with a supportive SEMH Secondary School, who are looking for a Subject Lead for English to join their school. The school is dedicated to providing specialist education for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child is encouraged to reach their full potential. We cater to a diverse range of abilities, with a focus on individualised learning support and emotional wellbeing. Responsibilities: Develop and manage the English curriculum, ensuring it is adapted to suit the needs of each child. Work closely with teachers and learning support staff to ensure children are fully supported in meeting their academic goals and personal development. Observe and assess the progress of students, ensuring that the curriculum and lesson plans are adapted to every child's unique needs. Lead professional development sessions to share ideas and advice for English teaching to SEND students. Collaborate with the SLT to ensure whole-school English targets are achieved. Engage parents and carers in the academic progress of their children and provide updates and support. Encourage a love of reading and communication across the school. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Proven experience working with SEND or SEMH pupils. Strong understanding of the English Curriculum and how to adapt it for students with SEMH needs and SEND. Leadership experience, or be willing to take on leadership responsibilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to inclusive education and delivering the best outcomes for learners with SEND and SEMH needs.
