The role

Capability Scotland is seeking a Head of Finance who will be responsible for I&E reporting, performance analysis of assigned services and will champion the use of financial data in effective planning and decision making.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Resources, the successful candidate will have solid finance knowledge and experience, who can collaborate with all levels of management. As a member of our Leadership Team, they will be commercially minded, able to work with both financial & non-financial information and have experience in a variety of modelling, analytical and reporting tools. They will care deeply about quality, have strong attention to detail and be a confident self-starter.

What you get to do Design, maintain and publish financial performance reports to all levels of organisation management. Prepare our annual statutory accounts. Guide budget holders in understanding their data and work with them in the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts. Liaise with departmental colleagues to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data. Improve data availability and financial literacy across the organisation. Participate in the maintenance and development of costing models and their use in decision making in relation to tenders, pricing, establishment etc. Lead the finance team, ensuring sound financial information and support is provided to management teams. Lead the implementation and development of a new financial system. What the ideal candidate will bring Qualified or Qualified by Experience Accountant. Experience designing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Office products or other software. Comfortable extracting, manipulating and analysing complex data from varying sources. Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities on multiple simultaneous projects. The ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to business colleagues. An enthusiasm to influence and develop financial awareness across the organisation.
