In line with their plans for Growth, the business seeks to appoint a Head of Finance to join the Senior Management Team, whose focus will be the driving of best practice in the day to day operations whilst supporting the Managing Director with Projects and in exploring new commercial opportunities. The role of Head of Finance will be responsible for all the finance and accounting and Facilities Management. This role will be responsible for management as well as having hands-on involvement in the delivery of all day to day business support activities, ensuring that all areas are attended to detail, timely, efficient and of commercial value. The role will review current operations / procedures and establish and manage best practice within all areas in your remit. You will be responsible for leading and developing a small team and for mentoring and developing the in-house capability. As well as the day to day element, the key to this role will be the proactive driving of change and improvement, provision of analysis and commercial support to all areas of the business. This will include reviews of systems, costs, margins, pricing and an input into the strategic direction of the business. The role will be challenging and rewarding - you will be hands-on and will lead from the front. To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced manager and motivator of staff. You will be an experienced and AAT qualified or QBE or Qualified. Key tasks and responsibilities Leadership & management of team Manager responsibility for staff, including their recruitment, roles & responsibilities, objectives, training, and performance management. Represent the group in financial and facilities matters, and deputise for the Chief Executive where required. Coordinate & control finance function Structure the finance/facilities team for most efficient deployment, ensuring systems, policies and procedures are effective and meet all financial and legal obligations. Maintain relationship with the bank - covering interest, overdraft, (potential) borrowing and cashflow. Ensure the business delivers appropriate invoicing & receipts, payroll and other ancillary day-to-day finance functions. Identify and support business growth Prepare and deliver formal accounts, including year-end preparation and delivery of reports to Companies House. Generate monthly management accounts, budgeting, pertinent information and trends, and the monitoring of external contracts.
