Birmingham Hamilton Woods is working to find a Head of Finance for an American-owned large fast-paced business. The Head of Finance needs to be technically strong in Financial Reporting & Controls. They are in a period of heavy change and need someone who can implement new controls to tighten the process surrounding month, quarter, and year-end processes. The opportunities within this multibillion turnover business are vast for the right individual. Responsibilities for the Head of Finance:

You are responsible for maintaining a robust control environment and driving transformation in our operational finance performance. This includes automating processes, delivering high-quality management information, and providing insightful forecasting. The role requires technical accounting skills, leadership, and strong interpersonal skills, along with a drive for continuous improvement as the business expands through acquisitions. You should have proven leadership abilities and the potential to grow with the business. Currently, there are 5 direct reports within a team of approximately 50 members. You will play a key role in developing a "best-in-class" finance function and must be comfortable and skilled in implementing and managing change. What do we want from a Head of Finance:

Financial Reporting Background:

You should be familiar with the audit process and accounting for a medium-sized entity, ideally with experience in listed companies. SOX & USGAAP Experience:

This is essential for the role. Strong Leadership Skills:

You must have the ability to inspire and develop a large team. Credibility Building:

You should quickly establish credibility with both internal and external stakeholders and serve as an ambassador for finance. Exceptional Organizational Skills:

You need to multi-task, resolve issues, and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs. Player/Manager:

You should be willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved when needed. Curiosity and Detail-Oriented:

You should have a keen interest in understanding details and addressing issues that affect your team and the wider business. Fully Qualified Chartered Accountant:

Ideally trained in practice. Package:
