Head of Finance . This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the finance function of a dynamic, forward-thinking firm that invests in high-growth innovative businesses. The successful candidate tasked with building a best-in-class finance and portfolio reporting function. Over time, the position offers the potential to evolve into a broader operational role, becoming a key decision-maker and contributor to the management team. Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership Lead all financial management and operations of the firm and its funds, ensuring best-in-class standards. Partner with the Founders and management team to drive operational excellence and efficiency. Oversee budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts, ensuring robust treasury management, including cash balances, foreign currency management, and hedging. Fund Operations & Reporting Manage fund administrators to oversee capital calls, investment funding, divestment, financial reporting, audits, and tax matters. Maintain and refine fund financial models, including portfolio summaries, reserve allocations, recycling, and exit forecasts. Supervise quarterly portfolio reviews with the investment team, managing key company metrics and reporting. Support the fundraising process by handling all financial and reporting aspects. Portfolio & Compliance Oversight Provide financial and structural support for investments across various geographies and jurisdictions. Ensure all regulatory, FCA, and Companies House compliance requirements are met. Supervise audits and oversee the preparation of valuation reports in collaboration with auditors, the investment team, and portfolio companies. Operational Excellence Manage payment processes, invoicing, expenses, and ensure appropriate cost allocations. Oversee employee remuneration, including bonuses, benefits, and pension administration. Lead tax management for the Adviser, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations. Spearhead innovations in processes and systems, leveraging tech-enabled solutions for increased efficiency. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with experience in Private Equity or Venture Capital, who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. They possess exceptional leadership, strategic insight, and a hands-on approach. Key Skills & Qualifications Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Experience within PE or VC Strong communicator with high EQ, presence, and the ability to build quality relationships with stakeholders. Proven leadership and people management skills, with a natural ability to nurture and develop talent. Innovative, forward-thinking, and passionate about driving change to achieve best-in-class processes and systems. High levels of IT literacy with a strong interest in tech-enabled financial solutions. Strong growth mindset, resilience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Agile, self-directed, and adaptable to a dynamic and growing business landscape.
