This business has operated in several specialist markets successfully for many years but is currently exploring new opportunities, looking to significantly grow their offering. They are currently seeking an ambitious Head of Finance & IT that will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to drive financial operations.

Your new role

This role will report directly to the MD and play a key part in the strategic and operational leadership, overseeing all aspects of the company's financial management. You will be tasked with driving financial strategy, ensuring robust financial control, and providing insight into financial performance that will influence decision-making. This role will be relatively 'hands-on' and require both strategic oversight and technical expertise, as well as strong leadership qualities. Your key responsibilities will be: Financial Leadership - Lead the finance function, providing direction and oversight on financial planning, reporting, and controls. Ensure financial strategies align with the company's goals and growth ambitions. Financial Reporting - Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, including monthly management accounts, annual budgets, forecasts, and statutory reporting. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management - Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity. Develop, implement and maintain effective cash management processes to ensure the business has sufficient funds to meet its operational and strategic needs. Business Partnering - Collaborate with SLT and wider management team to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decisions. Assist with pricing, investment appraisals, and financial modelling for new projects or expansion opportunities. Team Management - Lead and develop members of the finance & IT team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability. Ensure team members are adequately trained and supported in their roles. Internal Controls & Risk Management - Ensure the company has strong financial controls and risk management practices in place. Review and update internal policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks. Tax Compliance - Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and other relevant taxation laws. Liaison with External Auditors and Advisors - Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks. Oversee the annual audit process and ensure smooth relationships with stakeholders. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours a week between Monday and Friday. This company offers a hybrid and flexible working model and finishes early on Friday.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent. Strong experience in a senior finance role. Proven track record of managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Excellent understanding of UK accounting standards and financial regulations. Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels. Hands-on experience with financial systems and ERP software. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a small team. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and understandable way. Commercially minded with the ability to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Desirable:

Previous experience as part of a Senior Leadership Team. Experience within an SME in the manufacturing/production/engineering sector. International accounting exposure. Knowledge of IT systems. What you'll get in return

You will receive a healthy remuneration package of £65-80,000 salary, 33 days annual leave entitlement (including Bank Holidays), life assurance, enhanced pension contributions, various discount options. There is also a performance-based bonus in place.
