An excitingopportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance Operations who will play a keyrole in the organisation being a key member of the Operational LeadershipTeam. The Head ofFinance Operations will ensure the provision of consistent, robust and accuratefinancial data to the organisation on a timely basis. In addition, you willprovide effective leadership of the financial accounting and payroll teams andbe responsible for the integrity of the organisations financial data. The role holderwill lead the preparation of the annual accounts and will be the primaryliaison point with the external auditors. You will maintain robust financialcontrols, high standards of delivery service and regulatory compliance acrossthe finance function. Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities: Proactive leadership across theFinancial Accounting and Payroll teams. Performance manage the team and theprocesses to achieve these targets. Facilitate effective communicationand collaboration between the Financial Operations team and the Charitys otherdirectorates. Maintain and improve a system ofrobust financial controls, underpinned by appropriate financial policies andprocedures, to ensure that effective working practices are embedded, and thatthe organisation is protected from fraud and error. Oversee the continued processimprovement initiative working across Finance and linking with the otherdirectorates Prepare and monitor the cash flowof the organisation, ensuring that working capital is managed effectively andsurplus funds are invested in conjunction with the investment committee. Arrange and conduct financial trainingfor budget holders to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities in relationto financial management. Responsiblefor the statutory audit of the charity's Trustees' Report & Accounts inaccordance with current legislation and accounting standards. Undertakethe correct calculation and submission of all necessary tax returns includingquarterly VAT returns Oversee the payroll team to ensure correctcalculation and payment of all payroll and pension. To undertake other or additional duties thatare within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonablyrequire from time to time. Managementof self and others Lead theFinancial accounting and Payroll teams in the provision of high-qualityservices and adherence to professional quality standards. Ensure that theteams are fit for purpose and up to date with best practice working methods. Manage, support,develop and motivate the teams, celebrating success and ensuring appropriaterecognition. Governance Adhere tomanual handling procedures and complete mandatory manual handling training. Promotesthe health and safety of others. Uses the incident reporting and risk assessmentsystem (IRAR), to identify and report risks and incidents/actions if directed. Qualifications

Education to A level standard, as minimum, degree preferable. Personal Qualities

Budget and financial skills, including the ability to interpret and present complex financials and provide operational advice and guidance Good working knowledge of contemporary accounting systems, along with Excel/MS Office Strong practical experience of reporting systems and the presentation of management information Ability to contribute to the OLT in a consultative and team orientated style Strong commercial acumen and solution oriented Experience

Leadership experience in a financial role Experience of leading teams, including during periods of change, including financial transformation in difficult markets Experience of performing as a proactive and collaborative member of a leadership team Disclosure and Barring Service Check
