One of the most exciting recruitment projects to have landed on our desks for some time, we’ve been completely infected by the company’s energy, passion, and its future trajectory. The Head of Finance is a brand new position created by a recently appointed CFO (also introduced by Trial Balance), and is the first piece of recruitment to develop a rapidly growing, modern, and dynamic finance function within the business. The CFO is a genuine breath of fresh air; a highly experienced, extremely personable individual who is completely committed to growing and supporting a finance team in a business that he describes as moving "like a rocket”, a company with one of the most experienced and driven CEO’s and SMT that they have ever worked with. The business itself, a specialist consumer services company, has experienced almost unprecedented award winning growth, and with very promising projections for the future, this could be a career changing opportunity for the right person. Whilst many accountancy opportunities appear to focus on what the successful candidate will bring to the employer, these guys are just as focussed on what they can offer by way of development opportunity. The role sits immediately on the executive committee and works closely with many of the business directors, also supporting a team of five (including the incoming Finance Manager). The CFO has created a fun, dynamic and chipper department with transactional staff that feel supported and eager to learn. The Head of Finance will support this ethos, managing the team and playing a key role in developing a robust and modern department. This is a forward thinking position, focussing on future projects and forecasts as the business grows, and supporting the CFO. Who we’re looking for:

A technically and commercially astute individual, the successful candidate will be a qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), and probably possess seven years+ PQE gained in a commercial environment. It is highly likely that this person will have trained and qualified in practice and their CV will demonstrate impressive career development towards a similar position. A naturally people focussed professional, the HoF will lead by example, supporting the company’s history of supporting and developing staff from within. The CFO and SMT are openminded and appreciate that the recruitment market place is trickier than usual, so there is no box ticking exercise to complete here, they simply seek a committed, talented and broadminded accountant with genuine motivation to develop.
