We are looking for a Qualified Accountant with extensive experience in Assurance, Financial Controls and Compliance to join a high-profile Real Estate and Property Services firm as a Head of Financial Controls and Assurance. This position is paying £110-115k and is based in Central London but will only be office based twice a week. This role is a newly created position, you will be tasked with building your own team and will report directly into the UK Financial Controller.
The Role
- Due to recent changes in the Regional control framework, current processes need to be reviewed and redesigned or improved and this role will take the lead in managing this change.
- Management of the Control Owner assurance process, for Control Owners to achieve the minimum requirements of their roles including any certifications from Control Performers.
- Support first line assurance work from internal audit, Global assurance team and Controllership, including collecting evidence from finance teams and testing of controls for both design and effectiveness.
- Provide written/verbal reporting to the finance teams on risk management, controls, assurance and governance.
- Ensure the control environment is sufficient in design and operation to manage identified risks within agreed appetite levels, with plans and associated accountabilities and milestones developed to address unacceptable exposures.
Your Profile
- You will need to be a fully qualified accountant and possess extensive experience in industry within Assurance, Financial Controls and Compliance.
- Prior experience working within the Big 4 in External or Internal Audit is hugely advantageous but not a prerequisite. (Applicant's coming directly from Practice with no industry experience are sadly unable to be considered).
- You will ideally come from a large company background. (Listed Companies)
