About the Role We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of Global Partnerships to join our high-performing Global Engagement Team. With a new university strategy soon to be launched, you will be responsible for supporting the Associate Director of Global Engagement in the implementation and delivery of the University’s Global Engagement strategy and for identifying and developing new business opportunities that align with its aims in a range of countries. About You We’re looking for a skilled higher education international partnership practitioner with a track record of delivering and managing international partnerships and transnational education. You will have demonstrable knowledge of the effective business processes which evaluate and bring partnerships to life whilst ensuring risk mitigation and that quality assurance standards are met. You will have a clear understanding of the opportunities and issues relating to international partnership development, including TNE, and be ambitious to manage, build and support the realization of credible, scalable relationships. You will particularly be responsible for the continuing success of Sussex’s existing TNE partnership in Zhejiang Province and a second emergent partnership in China. Working closely with the Associate Director of Global Engagement, you will manage the work of Global Partnerships Managers. The Global Partnerships Team also includes two Partnerships Administrators and a Partnerships Development Manager based in Hangzhou. You will work alongside the Head of Global Mobility and Head of Global Programmes and in cooperation with the Associate Director International. Internally, you will be an institutional advocate for the value of global engagement to the wider University community. Externally, you will work with international institutions, ministries, embassies, and other relevant bodies and forums to ensure recognition of Sussex’s global education, research, and engagement. About Our Division The CEA division is vital in contributing towards the success of Sussex. We work closely in partnership with our four faculties and other learning institutions in the UK and internationally to attract students from over 170 countries and to develop successful global partnerships. Our ideas matter, and our role is to support Institutional Growth Strategies to support the University in achieving positive outcomes. The Global Engagement team works collaboratively with colleagues from communications, marketing, and recruitment teams to support the objectives of the University. Why work here Our university is situated off the A27, next to the beautiful South Downs where you will enjoy everything that our 150-acre campus has to offer. We are accessible by public transport; Falmer train station is a five-minute walk to campus, and several bus stops are located within campus. We also have dedicated cycling paths and encourage our staff to use these with our offering of a cycle to work scheme. Sussex is a renowned, multi-accredited, research-led International University, and this is only possible because of the people that work here. Whether you are a member of Faculty, part of a Professional Services team, or a Student, it’s our people that make us great, and we want you to be part of that. Please contact Gemma Proudley ( g.proudley@sussex.ac.uk ) for informal enquiries either regarding the role or flexible working. The University of Sussex values the diversity of its staff and students, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. The University requires that work undertaken for the University is performed in the UK. Closing date: January 4, 2025, 4:59 AM
