Head of Hardware

has arisen with a specialised High-Frequency Trading firm based in Cambridge. The company designs and delivers ultra-low latency trading technology solutions for financial markets, serving over 150 global markets. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hardware leader to oversee and drive innovation in FPGA and digital design engineering, ensuring cutting-edge advancements in low-latency systems. The role will involve leading the hardware engineering team, overseeing the design and deployment of FPGA platforms, validating and testing hardware designs, and driving strategic initiatives to maintain a technological edge in high-performance trading systems. The ideal Head of Hardware will have: 10+ years of experience in FPGA design, digital logic, and low-latency system development. Proven expertise in RTL coding, test bench creation, synthesis, timing analysis, and emulation. Proficiency in System Verilog, Xilinx FPGA tools, and programming languages such as C++, Rust, and Python. Strong leadership and mentoring experience within engineering teams. Familiarity with automation tools like Jenkins and a solid understanding of hardware-software integration. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
