The Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing (North) role The Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HS&W) department supports the business to reduce HS&W risk and create positive working environments. At SRM, our goal is to achieve industry leading HS&W performance. We place equal focus to the following five areas, Competence, Process, Culture, Compliance and Learning, which are integral to our continuous improvement. We believe that to be an industry leader, collaboration with industry peers to make the industry a better place is key. The purpose of the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing (North) is to lead HS&W performance in the Northern area. Reporting into the Director of Health Safety and Wellbeing and as a member of the Building and Infrastructure senior leadership teams. You will be responsible for leading a team of HS&W professionals and driving the highest levels of HS&W performance and culture throughout Northern area. We have offices in Newcastle, Manchester, Warrington and Sellafield to base yourself and travel around these areas will be required.

Your profile Member of IOSH working towards Chartered Status Excellent people leadership skills Experience of providing highly technical H&S support to complex Construction or Civil Engineering projects Competent understanding and ability to apply root cause analysis Excellent communication and influencing skills Experience of leading HS&W improvement with successful results A proactive approach to your own learning and development Chartered member of IOSH NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health and Safety Mental Health First Aider Experience of managing direct reports Sound understanding of behavioural psychology and human factors Rewards We're ready to invest in you and your future, and offer wide-ranging, performance-related progression opportunities.
