Ewell Castle School seeks an inspiring and engaging qualified teacher to lead our incredibly successful History department from September 2025. As the Head of History, you will be responsible for leading and managing the History department, delivering outstanding teaching and learning, and contributing to the school's strategic goals. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of education and pastoral care. History is incredibly popular at GCSE and A Level, and attainment is excellent. The willingness and ability to teach Classics would also be an advantage. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the History department, including curriculum planning and delivery. Inspire and motivate both students and staff to achieve their full potential. Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning. Monitor and evaluate the progress of students and provide support where needed. Collaborate with other departments and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current educational practices and developments in History education. Requirements: A relevant degree and a teaching qualification. Significant experience in teaching History at a senior level. Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This is a full time or 0.8 FTE position.
