Are you a passionate and experienced History educator ready to lead and inspire a thriving department? We are seeking a dedicated Head of History to join our school in Havering, East London, on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role:

Lead and manage the History department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. Oversee curriculum design, delivery, and assessment across KS3, KS4, and KS5. Foster a love for History and critical thinking in students. Mentor and support teachers within the department to drive professional growth and innovation. Monitor and improve student outcomes through effective data analysis and intervention strategies. Contribute to whole-school initiatives and collaborate with senior leadership.

The Ideal Candidate:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a related subject. Has a proven track record of excellent classroom teaching and raising student achievement. Demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing teams or leading curriculum projects. Is passionate about History and has the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
