Head of Improvement and Assurance

- Join our team as the Head of Improvement and Assurance! We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to take on this crucial role. As the Head of Improvement and Assurance, you will play a vital part in our organisation.

About the Role As the Head of Improvement and Assurance, you will support the Director of Homes and Neighbourhoods with operational strategy, business assurance, risk management, and compliance with legislation and social housing regulation. You will provide high-level advice, leadership, and direction to ensure the service continues its transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all operational aspects of the Improvement and Assurance team. Prepare detailed reports and present them to senior leadership and the Council’s Cabinet. Develop a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Manage budgets and resources effectively. Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory changes. Focus on key areas including compliance, regulation, improvement, performance management, and quality and data.

About You We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills and experience: Degree level qualification

or equivalent and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIH Level 5). Substantial experience

at senior management level in social housing governance and assurance. Significant experience

of managing large and complex transformation projects. Strong financial acumen

and reasoning. Excellent people leadership skills

and a strong sense of doing what is right for residents. Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
