The Head of Social Housing Asset Transformation role is a new position created to help the council on their journey towards being an excellent social landlord. You will lead the charge in transforming their housing services, playing a pivotal role in managing a range of critical housing services that directly impact the lives of tenants. You will provide strategic and operational leadership for strategic asset management, compliance, and building safety across the Council's housing stock, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, relevant legislation, and Government guidance.

You will foster a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring tenants are placed at the heart of everything we do.

The role sits in the Housing Division within the recently formed Resident Services Directorate. You will report to the Director of Housing and play a key role in the senior management team, working closely with other Heads of Service within the directorate and more widely across the Council.

This role will be challenging; however, it represents an exciting opportunity to play a significant part in shaping the future direction of the Council's housing stock and bringing change and modernization to the service to ensure a sustainable portfolio.

The ideal candidate is someone who will: Have a relevant property-related degree and be a Chartered Member of the RICS or other relevant professional body with post-Chartership experience. Where candidates are not Chartered, they should demonstrate substantial relevant experience in a similar role. Have an excellent working knowledge of Asset Management principles and experience in developing Asset Management strategies, including drafting strategies, successful implementation, and ongoing review. Have experience in strategic leadership as an existing Head of Service or holding another comparable service management role, ensuring ongoing service improvement and development of staff. Have experience managing significant change within an organization, ensuring that adequate resources are in place and that plans are clearly communicated with staff and key stakeholders to ensure understanding and successful implementation. Have experience working with and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including members, senior staff across the council, and external organizations, undertaking presentations, writing reports, and leading meetings as appropriate.

If you feel you have the necessary background, experience, and skills to undertake this role, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for someone who is able to start as soon as possible.
