What’s the role?

As our Head of International Business Development, you’ll evaluate and identify regions where we don’t have a presence then focus on delivering sustainable growth in those areas. You’ll be identifying and developing partnerships, winning large scale opportunities and acting as a strategic customer lead.

Whilst you continue to develop and grow the international regions you’ll also be driving efficient reporting practice, helping to standardise global policies, blue-printing best practice so that success can be replicated, and undertaking periodic business reviews with partners to ensure sales and marketing are on track. Key Responsibilities:

Drive growth of existing partners outside of key countries (UK, Germany, France and USA). Evaluate countries where Millboard doesn’t have a presence and focus on delivering sustainable international growth in those regions. Drive demand by supporting/leading partners with winning large sales opportunities. Act as a strategic customer lead in defined markets as appropriate. Deliver on high value market opportunities through prioritisation and knowledge sharing. Set up partners for success through replication of best practice. Developing a strong relationship and familiarity with the customer/distributor base, their sales history, future plans and projected revenue. Calculating and negotiating customer/distributor terms. Weekly reporting on export update and challenges to Chief Revenue Officer. Involvement in negotiations over rebates, discounts, mark down contributions etc – so that the company has a consistent policy across the whole business. Reviewing distributor terms. Ensuring premium brand positioning and maintenance. Rolling 3 Year projected forecasts, with annual budgets. Periodic business reviews with partners to ensure Sales and Marketing plans are on track. Maximise Millboard opportunities in key markets. Your Background and Experience:

Previous export experience with a premium brand. Has opened new markets for premium brands. Strong track record of driving a successful export strategy. Knowledge of the financial workings of retailers/distributors including margin analysis. Loves a challenge and excels with a “game changing product” to rapidly capture market share. Experience attending and exhibiting at trade fairs. Strong communication and presentation skills. Strong perseverance to finish different projects and change direction if required. A person who gets things done and delivers results. Must be strategically minded and have a “laser sharp focus” on what really makes a difference. Creative and nimble thinker who can adapt tactics but keep alignment. Confidence and experience to work remotely and at times without direct access to your line manager. Flexible to change and able to react very quickly, often working under pressure. Resilient, self-driven and assertive. Ability to work flexible hours when required to suit the needs of the business, including overseas travel when required. Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and passport.
